One of the highest points in the province is Osmena Peak. An elevation of 1013 MASL is found at Mantalongon, Dalaguete (meters above sea level). The cliffs and undulating rock formations of the magnificent terrain contrast with the blue sky and water as a background. No of your level of hiking expertise or physical endurance, you may easily ascend to the viewpoint along the route. It takes around 20 minutes to complete the path.
The ride to Osmena Peak from Cebu City is scenic you will drive through the countryside passing fields and quaint towns along the way. You will then reach the Mantalongan market, which is the most likely jump-off point for the treks to the viewpoint. Here you will find a bustling vegetable market and a glimpse of local life. Visitors can also hire a motorcycle taxi (locally known as habal-habal) from here to the base.
Once you reach the start of the trail, you can walk on your own to the peak or get a guide. The trip is easy and pleasant with spectacular views. Take as many photos as you want and enjoy the breeze blowing at the top. One of the best times to visit is during sunrise.
